Sales taxes are levied by many states and cities on sales to the final customer. The customer pays the sales taxes, not the seller. The seller must, however, collect the tax. The seller must in turn remit it to the taxing authority. In MyBooks you must set up sales tax codes for each taxing entity. Sales tax must be charged on the invoice if the customer is required to pay sales taxes.
You may collect sales taxes in different tax authorities. If you do, you may enter the other tax authorities now or later, using the Sales Tax Authorities function in your Maintenance Toolbox of your MyBooks desktop.
